Marbles, granaties and “travertini” are the materials used for kitchens and baths. Cut mostly on requested
measures, providing the holes to insert sinks and cooking tops.
Very long or perforated surfaces must have an on stucco iron link on the inside and must be fixed under
the top. The ideal thickness of the plane is 3 centimeters, thet assures endurance to bending and braking.
The surface is threated with stainproof products – water and oil repulsive and usually polished to
avoid the plane to opacify or to get stained.
(over kitchen plane in “Bianco Asiago spazzolato” marble, underneath kitchen plane in “Yuparanà India” granite).
Threated stone planes are highly hygienic and easy to clean.
“Alzatine” (little elevations) are essential to protect the walls where the plane lay, they hold liquids
that can accidentally spill over the edges along the walls.
If the walls are not tiled an alternative to “alzatine” is a back structure which creates continuity
between the main plane and the wall underneath.
